Eco-sense’s “Chernobyl + 20” film festival in Skopje

The screenings of documentaries “Chernobyl+20” were organized in commemoration of the 20 years since the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl, Ukraine. “Chernobyl+20” activities were organized all over Europe.

The programme of the screenings was as follows:

1. “Sacrifice”, dedicated to the liquidators, people who were involved in the clean up activities in Chernobyl, right after the accident;

2. “Fallout from Chernobyl”, documentary dedicated to children, sacrifices from the Chernobyl disaster;

3. “Nuclear Controversies”, about facts and consequences from Chernobyl, which IAEA, WHO and Russian officials do not want to accept as reality.

The documentaries were obtained from the Dutch Laka Foundation.

The premier screening of the documentaries took place in the British Council in Skopje, on the 25th of April 2006. The screenings continued on the 26th, 27th and 28th of April in the Press to exit project space. On the 3rd of May in the British Council, a screening for the students from the “Orce Nikolov” high school from Skopje was organised.
