Eco-sense organised an energy workshop in Skopje
In the frame of Eco-sense’s project implemented in partnership with Inforse Europe, Eco-sense organised a one-day workshop entitled: „Analysis of the Energy Law in the Republic of Macedonia and its respective approximation to European Policy - Inforse Europe experiences from last 15 years of activity in the area of sustainable energy“ with the aim to bring together NGOs and institutions to openly discuss about the challenges Macedonia is facing in its attempt to access to EU.
Gunner Boye Olesen from Inforse gave a presentation on Inforse’s 15 year work on energy and their visions for the future, and Eco-sense presented their recommendations to the participants of the workshop. The presentations initiated a fruitful discussion among the participants where nuclear power was questioned whether it is economically viable, and renewable energy was promoted as one of the best, cheapest and most viable solutions for our country.
The project Eco-sense is implementing aims at producing a brochure about the EU policies to be implemented and the expected impacts in Macedonia for greenhouse gas emissions, other major environmental and social impacts and at presenting recommendations to the Macedonian government for early actions, such as raising environmental standards prior to the deadlines given in the European Energy Treaty.
