Waste
The amounts of waste produced in our every day life constantly increase. This is followed by growing pressure of waste to the environment and a constant loss of valuable resources and energy during the processes of land-filling and incineration of waste. Due to this, sustainable waste management is highly necessary.
Sustainable waste management, i.e. prevention, reducing, reusing and recycling of waste materials, leads to minimization of waste production and prevents depletion of natural resources, as well as contributes to the circular movement of matter and energy in nature. In contrast, unsustainable waste management, land-filing and incineration lead to irreversible loss of material and energy contained in waste, and creation of toxic materials that pollute the environment.
Eco-sense works on waste issues mainly to promote prevention, reduce, reuse and recycling of waste, through campaigns and projects, for households and consumers.
